Postcard Project Update - Thursday, January 08, 2004
Jenive from Austin, TX asks: Can I send family photos of the kids?
Yeah, great idea. Make the names really funny and put them on the back. UPDATE: I'm having second thoughts. I'm kinda wanting to keep the mailings 'the same' every month, with only bottlecaps showing up this month. If people start sending all kinds of stuff, it may be a bit hard to 'control'. I mean, people can send whatever the heck they want anyway, but hopefully they will keep to the norm. I think I'll start a posting once a week with latest suggestions and perhaps we can enable voting to pick each months mailer... Your comments/ideas?
Apparently some blogs are starting to pick up the link to this site. Since the launch on Jan 1, the site has over 5000 hits. That averages around 700 hits a day. Not bad for our first week online.
I've also noticed links coming from totalfark.com which is FARK on steroids. Cool. Welcome everyone. Postcard Project Update - Wednesday, January 07, 2004
Laura in Plainsboro, NJ says: keep up the good work. If you get sick of torturing your mom - i have a mom and grandmom to offer up.
Isn't that nice of her?
Mom's Mom, my Grandma, fell late last week and broke her hip. She's in the hopsital in Houston, Texas. Mom has gone to Texas, so it is unlikely that I will get any funny phone calls this week...
As for the project, we will of course continue, and I'll post mom's calls next week. Also, because of the 'Grandma incident', we still haven't had Christmas. So I expect to be at Mom's house sometime next week. I'll do my best to pawn it all off on someone else... Postcard Project Update - Tuesday, January 06, 2004
Last night Mom called my house, and my wife answered. They spoke for a while and suddenly my wife says to me (while Mom's on the phone)
"Mom says she got an envelope from San Francisco today and there was nothing in it." My reply? "So? Call Kevin." Then this morning I got an email from my brother. Apparently he got an accusatory phone call last night from Mom... I love it! |
