I put a bunch of new postcards in the Gallery today. Check them out, some are pretty funny. If you aren't participating yet, get 'cha butt in gear!

Postcard Project Update - Thursday, January 29, 2004

I called Mom last night and she told me that she got a postcard from Hong Kong. She said that she keeps getting cards from Barbie, I asked her if she was talking about the doll and she said yeah she keeps sending me cards and telling me that she wishes I was there with her. Good job people. She also said that she does not know who is doing this but it sure makes her happy when there is something in the mail. I told her that I have no idea and she needed to call my brother and tell him.

Also she said she got the origami birds and 6 Corona bottle caps. Thanks for all the support. It is time to start gearing up for Business card February.

Postcard Project Update - Wednesday, January 28, 2004

Talked to my brother this evening. He says Mom called him today because she got more stuff in the mail. I'm not getting much of the blame, which was always the idea. My brother told me that he collects fridge magnets, so that's a good one we're going to have to use soon.

Also, I watched Amelie last night, and thought it was great. It could somewhat be applied to what I'm doing with the Postcard Project, kinda. Nonetheless, it was an entertaining movie. Thanks for the suggestion.

When I talked to Mom yesterday, she mentioned that she had received an envelope with 15 bottlecaps in it. Thanks, whoever sent it.

She also received a letter that said "Celeste, you're the best, and I'll shout it out!". Along with the letter was a one-use Shout static wipe. She thought it was great.

Business cards are only a few days away. Gonna be fun.

Postcard Project Update - Monday, January 26, 2004

We had a big ice storm and there are predictions of 3-7 inches of snow tonight. So Mom has a few days off (she works for a public school). Might want to mention that in your next bit of correspondence...

some new pics in the Gallery. still no hate mail. c'mon, there's gotta be some PETA PETBC (People for the Ethical Treatment of Bottle Caps) wackos out there that just hate the fact that I'm bombarding Mom with junk... all I get is happy email.

Jini writes: I just wanted to say that I certainly hope that my sons, two in their teens, one under 10, are thinking about me as much as you are thinking about your mom. Good job....:*)

Steve suggests: What an absolutely great idea!! Next month, maybe everyone send a 5 cents. My mother always use to say, "If I had a nickle every time...."
That's funny Steve. My Mom used to say "Get your ass over here before I beat it"... not quite the same memories... heh...

Other News
Don't send any more bottlecaps. It's time to rev up for business card February. Find a few good ones and get them ready. If you want to send a few, write a secret message that spans them, so mom has to put them together. If you know someone famous, have them sign the back. If you have groceries to pick up, write the list on the card then send it to mom when you're done. Or don't write anything.

I'll have the poll up by the 5th of Feb. for the March item. The poll will run until the 15th. That way we will have time to determine 'the winner' and you crazy people can start collecting whatever it is...

Lastly
Mom was recently told that one of her brothers did something similar to this in college. Therefore, for us to take full advantage of this 'rumor', more bonus points are being assessed. If you mention 'Duff' or 'Bert' or 'Lyle' then you get extra credit. Yeah, he has several names, all weirder than the last...

Postcard Project Update - Sunday, January 25, 2004

Last night was poker night at our place. Mom and her husband came. Mom said she has received a bunch of interesting mail lately. A bracelet and two origami birds (see the gallery).

Keep it up folks, business card Feb. is only a few days away.
