Postcard Project Update - Friday, July 30, 2004
The home page for The Postcard Project gets thousands of hits daily. But rarely does anyone 'follow through' on the website premise and request Betty's address. Do they just not get it, or are they looking for something else? Certainly some of them would request it, but this is not the case.
Very odd. Postcard Project Update - Monday, July 26, 2004
Mom's been having a grand old time. Thanks again for all the letters. Mom has been writing responses gradually to each and every one of you. If you didn't leave a return address, Mom has placed your response in her scrapbook next to your letter. I suspect once this is over and she finds out about the website she'll upload copies of those responses.
Just thought I'd drop a quick line to tell you how hysterically "cloak and dagger" the post office employees are. They called the other day and left a message in pseudo-code to let me know a package had arrived for Betty Anne. They are a hoot. Also, I asked Dad to swipe and scan some letters last week and he said he would. Hopefully I'll get them soon. Mom's got him hopping these days -- she's planning a big garage sale. She's decided to sell the house and move closer to her Mother and Sister, Meemaw and Ruby, in Annapolis.
As we approach the last month of 'production' here, I want to start getting things in line for the 'big reveal' to Betty. If you have any newspaper connections, TV friends, or other media pals, start mentioning the project to them. Or if you'd rather, just point them to the Press Kit. We do not really want anything published at this time, but I'd like to get some good coverage for the project and for Betty Anne at the end of August.
