Postcard Project Update - Friday, August 27, 2004
This is your last chance to send something to Betty. I hope she has enjoyed the project, and I hope she finds out in a cool way, much like my Mom did. Try to get something in the mail to Betty this weekend!
Postcard Project Update - Tuesday, August 24, 2004
Oh, by the way, my friends and I were talking about how the interest is fizzling out and we have one major critique (and yes, I know y'all wanted some more posts from us the past few weeks, but I was on vacation and then I started law school at night again and Amy is working all day and rehearsing her play all night, so we got a little busy -- sorry :) ).
Anyhoo, the site is too hard to use. It has gotten more complicated. The address should just be one the front page of the site. More people would send mail if you could just get the address right away. That's our 2 cents.
I got an e-mail from Mom today:
Hi, I finally finished recovering all of the dining room chairs!!! The staple gun Mom had given me for christmas worked and I did 6 chairs in 2 days. Have you guys heard that new song by Gretchen Wilson (?) who does Red Neck Woman? I think its called I'm Here for the Party. It is great. They play it on my radio station every Friday as I am coming home from work, and I just love it. I got about 12 letters this week, so I am not as bummed out as I was. Am I ever going to find out who is doing this? I really thought it was Ruby and her boys writing letters and sending them to friends around the county to mail back to me for a while, but now I don't think that. Someone sent me an anonymous letter that was typed and mailed from Arizona. It said "If you want to know who is sending you all of this mail go to postcardsmormon.com." I was with Dad when I opened it (this was about 2 weeks ago) and I handed it to him and asked "Does this mean it's over?" Dad looked at the note and said, "It will be if you go to that web-site." So I haven't. At first I thought 'why would someone try to ruin this for me?', but then I thought, 'well, why would all of those people have been so nice to me". I think the nice people win. Anyway, I am very proud of myself for not going to the web-site, considering my past curiosity record. I'm not going to credit myself with maturity or growth, just a fear that if I peak it will all be over. This has been such a blast. Ruby's birthday was yesterday, and Mom came over to visit me on Saturday, so I sent my porcelain Shirley Temple doll to visit with Ruby until I can get moved. I found patterns for the right period clothes for the doll, and I am looking forward to making some of them after we get moved. Love you both, Mom |
