A Piece Of Art

So Dad was giggling over a card he recently received. Apparently someone was cute enough to actually draw a pop tab on the card and asked that it be enough. What a great idea, and wonderful that it stuck out enough to be discussed on the phone last night.

He is really starting to get a kick out these and has even mentioned a couple of times that he's gonna write back to some people. So watch your mailboxes...

House Sitting

Dad received a letter detailing the "house rules" for his upcoming house sitting assignment. Apparently it was written quite well and even said that he'd be feeding some particular animal. And, it came with a key.

Dad was talking about writing some people back because he is absolutely SURE that this is my sister-in-law and her friends. He has not even considered for a moment that it might be me. (hee hee, I'm sure it is because I'm the perfect child. hee hee)

Mom wanted to know why he's sure it is Linda. My father just "knows" it is her and her "internet" friends. Sorry Linda, but that just makes it all the more funny. Hope you'll forgive me.

Anyway, they are loving the notes, cards, and the keys.

Daddy is a true born Hoosier

So ya wanna know where my dad grew up... that isn't an easy question. He was born in Jeffersonville, IN in his parents home. All four boys were born in the same bed at home. He lived there until he was a young boy. At that point, they moved to Terre Haute. He lived there until his father moved them to Evansville. My dad graduated from Evansville Bosse High School.

On Sunday, Dad was talking about how the yard in Terre Haute seemed so big but now when he drives past it seems so small. He was talking about having to push the mower across the yard and it seemed like it took forever.

His father worked for Kroger as a warehouse manager. Dad delivered papers and worked his way through high school and college. All the boys were raised to be hard workers.

I hope this helps answer your questions... feel free to ask me any questions about Dad... I'll spill all the dirt.

Gale, Gayle, or Gail

Thanks to some new postcards that came Dad's way... There was quite a discussion on the name Gale. See, Uncle Dick is married to Aunt Gayle and someone else has a friend by the name of Gail but no one can seem to figure out who Gale is. One person even went so far to think maybe someone was pretending to be Aunt Gayle.

It is so hard not to laugh out loud and break my cover. I can't believe family members talked for 30 minutes on the spelling of names.... They are all going to kill me when they find out this "game".

Did you send keys? I haven't heard a word about any keys.
