Postcard Project Update - Wednesday, November 30, 2005
Welcome to December 2005
Pictures it is! It's time to really boggle Judy's mind. Send her a photo with a wacky caption on it, or send her the photo that comes in that new picture frame or just send a picture with no explanation. Be creative, be fun, be nice - send something to Judy.
For two months now my Mom has been collecting toys and supplies for Katrina and Rita victims. She had schools donating items, and paid for many of the things herself.
Last week she gave up her Thanksgiving holiday to drive to Mississippi and Texas to give out these items. She got back on Sunday and was back to work on Monday. I'm proud of you, Mom. Postcard Project Update - Tuesday, November 29, 2005
Sorry for being a bit absent lately . . .
I've been slacking . . . Not really, I've had a guest from the United Kingdom for the last 11 days and we've been really busy having lots of fun! I took him to the airport yesterday, so now I am back to the normal everyday life which of course includes messing with poor Judy! Anyway, it's time for an official vote! So, what do YOU pick for the item of the month to send to Judy? Please pick one for the month of December : 1. Pics of kids, pets, etc with stories and weird names. 2. New Years Resolutions (wacky or sincere)-- although this could just as easily be done as the January item of the month. 3. Receipts 4. Recipes, since Judy does havea ton of cook books and such, maybe she could use a few non-sensical ideas made of crazy ingredients. 5. Owls 6. Christmas items like wrapping paper and to/from tags Voting will close tomorrow, November 30th, 10 pm central time. Hope you are all having a great weekend. Site Hiccup
Seems that there was a hiccup in the system tonight, and thanks to Dana for letting me know. Anyway, its back up and zoomin' along...
To add to Corinna's post, Judy is definitely amused by the whole situation, I practically guarantee it. She did have a watchful eye on us all week though, and there were also four people sharing one computer, hence the lack of updates.
On Friday morning, my mom sent my brother downstairs to get the mail, the following exchange occured: E.T.: "I already got it." Judy: "Anything good?" E.T.: "No, just junk mail." Judy:"No postcards?" E.T.: "One, it's for Patrick though" Judy: "Bring it up!" I think she's definitely warming up to the whole thing, I might even say looking forward to them now. Corinna got a lot of good shots of the postcards that we could find, but like she said, Mom has hidden them well. Knowing her, she's probably secretly scrapbooking them as we speak. Thanks everybody, keep up the good work! Postcard Project Update - Sunday, November 27, 2005
hey all,
despite malices nice little freak out i actually have been thinking a lot about the postcard site its just that ive been at my moms house and she is very sneaky.. i didnt want her catching me looking at the site or finding it in my history.. anyhow.. now i am at my dads and can safely post about the postcards. my mom allowed me to see about 6 postcards and the rest are mysteriously hidden.. pretty well hidden I may add as i looked in all of her normal hiding spots. but anyhow, the most amusing moment to me was when my mom pulled her self-described " favorite postcard" from her purse.. yes she'd actually been carrying it around with her.. probably showing it off to all her friends. She pulled out a postcard with John Travolta on the front. and as I looked at it she waltched me like a hawk, making sure I did nothing to hurt it. Anyhow I was able to take a few pictures of the postcards she did let me see and I will email them to Will as soon as I get back to Boston where my camera cord is.. oh and one more thing.. in a room with me, my brother and my sister my mother gave me the very suspicious eye and said.. " corinna are sure you have nothing to do with this.." when i said no she asked at least two more times all the while looking at me for some hint that I was lying. I of course threw a fit asking her what would make her assume it was me instead of my other siblings that were in the room.. she soon dropped it. In conclusion, I think its a pretty good sign that the judster is carrying around one of the postcards in her purse, i think she's finally seeing the humor in it so yaay! Sorry this took a while to post but I think you all understand that i'd rather safely post than ruin the whole thing! Keep up the good work Peace. Corinna
If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself..
I am shocked and disappointed that there has been no participation on this board by my siblings in my absence. I mean, even my dad who never signed on for this project has been more actively involved! I should be outside tanning, but instead i'm writing this post. I wanted to come to make the final decision about the item of the month. As i've said before, my vote goes for the pictures of kids or pets with silly names and antecdotes made up about them. Even if you don't have kids or pets you could send pictures of friends or spouses, or even cut pictures out of magazines and pretend they are your kids or pets or spouses. But don't let it be said that I'm a Nazi, I am perfectly willing to open up the December item to a vote.... -pics of kids, pets, etc with stories and weird names. -New Years Resolutions (wacky or sincere)-- although this could just as easily be done as the January item of the month. -receipts -christmas items like wrapping paper and to from tags. -recipes, since Judy does havea ton of cook books and such, maybe she could use a few non-sensical ideas made of crazy ingredients. -OWLS Jenny from Missouri and Will, please feel free to go ahead with the newsletter with whatever seems most popular. i'm headed to the island of Vieques tomorrow and will not have internet access for 2 days. Will check back when I return. thanks everyone! |
